Update: Disappearing Blogs

It has been quite a learning lesson having ALL my blogs removed from my dashboard.
I am still waiting for an e-mail from Blogger. They have reinstated some blogs for
other bloggers who were going through this.

I was told that they will no longer let you monetize your blogs with ads and those that do have ads on them are being removed from their dashboards.

From what I see you can only have ads from Google Adsense on them. To me this seems all wrong. Most of us who have/had blogs did have more ads than just Google Adsense. It is
a known fact that you will not earn money from these ads if no one clicks on them, and most people got so used to them that they would ignore them. Only Google was making money off them. Now they have gotten so greedy they don't want any ads on these blogs other than their own.

We should have seen this from the begining. Now there are many of us who have worked hard and long to make these blogs that are without any way of getting to them.

Yes, Google has the control and they are using it to their fullest.

It would have been nice if they had sent us notice so we could have moved them to a different host or even taken off the other ads. But Blogger just started making them unaccessible. Now there are lots of us who are in the forum asking how or if we will ever get them back.

What really makes me mad is that they don't just disable the ones that have ads other than Adsense on them but any and all that you have on their server. I had a new one that was just weeks old and there were no ads at all on it, but it too is now gone from my dashboard.

Update: Disappearing Blogs

Well now the forum moderator has come up with another excuse as to why my blogs were removed.

He says I have a link on my blogs that leads to malware..
What I can't understand is where is this link? Which link is it?
Why wont they tell me?

Some of these blogs are more than a year old
Why are they just now finding this link that has been there for more than a year.
If there is such a link!

I do NOT have the same links on all my blogs so why did they
take all of the blogs off my dashboard?

What is really going on at blogger?

I suspect that they just needed space for the newer blogs and to supply this space on their servers they just got rid of some of the older blogs. Now they are using any excuse they can think of to tell those that have had their blogs removed from their dashboard why they did this.

I will gladly move my blogs to another place if they would just let me get to them.
And I know they are still there because I can see them in their cache. If they knew that they had links to malware and had deleted them for that reason, don't you think they would have cleared them from their cache?

Stop by any time to see what progress is made in trying to get the blogs restored.
This is becoming a very trying time for me and some other unfortunate bloggers.
The Mystery of the Disappearing Blogs will continue.

Update: Disappearing Blogs

Looks like another day has gone by without any word whatsoever from anyone at Blogger blogspot. If another company ran their business like they do there would be lots of people who would not use their services again.

I for one am very unhappy with them. They have restored some of the blogs for other bloggers and still give the rest of us no word about when or if we will get ours back on the Internet.

As for sending them an e-mail.....that is a laugh, we all tried that and got NO response.

We'll see what happens tomorrow, What do you want to bet we will hear the same from them as the last few days.... NOTHING!

I just wonder how long this blog will be allowed to be on the 'net.

Drop by tomorrow to read more of The Mystery of the Disappearing Blogs.

Update: Disappearing Blogs

It has now been 6 days and still no answer from anyone at Google Blogger blogspot about the disappearing blogs. The wait is beginning to get on my nerves.

I visited the forum again to see if there was a message that would explain why so many blogs were disappearing but of course there wasn't any. The simple copy and paste may
be all we ever get. Boy, would I like to have that forum moderators job.

I checked out some more threads in the forum and found that even more people had lost their blogs over the weekend and they have posted asking the same questions the rest of us have been asking. All I can say is "Good Luck" to them all, You have a long, long wait.

I did see where one person got some of their blogs back.
That just made the rest of us wonder why we haven't gotten any of ours back. You would think that if they could restore some they could restore all or at least let us know they are looking into the problem.

I guess I was wrong in thinking that Google was not the type of business to treat people like they have in the last few months. I wonder what the Companies who pay Google to advertise would think of them if they knew how they disregarded the people who help them make millions of dollars by putting these ads on their blogs and websites. But I would venture to say they wouldn't give a damn either.
After all it's all about the MONEY! $$$$$

I know one thing for sure...If I ever get my blogs back I will move them somewhere else and there won't be any Google Adsense ads on them.

Update: Disappearing Blogs

Today is the 5th day since my blogs just magicaly disappeared from
my dashboard at blogspot. I am still waiting for some logical answer from the
person who received my email at Google's Blogger as to why they removed these blogs.
I thought it would only take a few days, but I was mistaken.

Why did I think that a program that makes millions of dollars a year
would care about the "little" people?
Because it is US that helps them make those millions of dollars.

Where would they be if everyone on the Internet refused to put
these ads on our websites and/or blogs? How long would they survive
then? The big companies who pay them to advertise would be looking for
another way to get their ads out to the masses and Google would lose
this revenue. And that my dear reader is a lot of money to lose.

The Companies who use them to advertise are the ones who puts the bread
on their table, and we the "little" people are the ones who serve up these
ads. And we do this for free....we give them an area to place these ads
on our websites and blogs in hopes of making a few pennies. What would
happen to them if the webmasters and bloggers started charging Google to
place these ads on our websites and blogs? This is what they
do to those that use them to advertise. So why shouldn't we do the same?

What I am trying to get across here is the fact that even though Google
makes millions of dollars a year by using us to do so, they don't respect
us enough to answer our questions in a timely manner. And they act as if
they are doing us a favor by placing the ads from these companies or people
on space that could we could be renting out to other advertisers.
I for one would like to receive a little more respect from a company that I help
make millions of dollars every year.
Is that to much to ask of them?
Or am I living in a world of delusion???

Update: Disappearing Blogs

Well here it is Sunday February 10th, 2008 and still
no word from Blogger blogspot about the missing blogs.
But I also see in their forum that there are even more
than I thought that have disappeared. Looks as if some of
the older blogs are gone from their dashboard. We are all
still waiting to hear what they have to say about this.

Yesterday (Saturday Feb.9th) I spent some time just going
from one blog to another blog by clicking on the "next blog"
button in the vbar. Most of the blogs that I saw were
in a language other than English and the others were mostly
pages with photos. I ran across 3 that were just fronts
that redirected me to porn sites. You would think those
would be the ones that would be removed, not ones that are
of some help to the reader.

I sure hope that we who have lost all our blogs get an answer
from them soon so we will know if and when we will be able to
get our blogs back up and running. You can bet, if I do get
any of them back on the Internet I will be moving them to a
safer host and making back-ups daily.

Time and Money Wasted

For over a year I did research so I would have the correct information to put in my blog. This information could be read by anyone who wanted to know more about Type 2 Diabetes. I knew that Type 2 Diabetes would be easier to live with if people could understand exactly what it was and what they could do to live a long and healthy life should they happen to have this disease. I had hundreds of readers including patients of physicians who had told them about the blog. Some of the information I posted came from physicians who treat people with this disease. Not only did it take up my time and money but it also took time away from the physicians who were willing to talk with me and share their knowledge. And everyone knows how much their time cost.

So you can understand why it was such a shock when early on February 7th (2008) when trying to put more relevant information in my blog I found it was no longer here at Google's Blogger blogspot. It had just disappeared. Like magic, Poof! Gone!

But my dear readers it was not magic, it was a mistake that someone at Google's Blogger blogspot has made. Now all I can do is ask for them to correct this mistake.
I will post the reply some time tomorrow morning, If I get one.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Good Morning Dear Reader,
As you may have guessed my blogs are still missing, but as promised here is an update from yesterday.

UPDATE: Well it's been 2 days and my blogs are still missing from my dashboard.
But I'm seeing that more and more people are experiencing the same disappearing
magic act as I am. It seems that Google has hired a Magician who is as good as
David Copperfield when it comes to making things disappear, but without the skills
to bring them back....

So here is the excuse we were given for all our missing blogs. Now remember there are hundreds if not thousands of blogs that have magically disappeared.
This is the reply we (dozens of bloggers)were given, from Google employee "Gatsby", in the forum, where you go for help when there is a problem with your blogs.

Subject: Re: All my Blogs have Disappeared

"Good morning everyone,

I suggest you folks take a look at the following help article to get some perspective on why some of your blogs may been removed. http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=42577

From the article:

"The ease of creating and updating webpages with Blogger has made it particularly prone to a form of behavior known as link spamming. Blogs engaged in this behavior are called spam blogs. [They] may scrape content from other sites on the web, using other people's writing to make it look as though they have useful information of their own...they can clog up search engines, making it difficult to find real content on the subjects that interest you."

That's how they explain the disappearance of hundreds of blogs ??? Now considering the date it took more than 24 hours for this simple copy and paste reply. With the money Google is making just from the ads that are on these blogs I would have thought they could afford a forum moderator who could come up with something better than a copy and paste answer and in a more appropriate time frame. What's wrong in admitting that somewhere along the lines there was a mistake made by someone and they would correct the problem or give each of us a better reason for deleting these blogs?
What has happened to honesty...doesn't it exist anymore?

Now let's stop and think about this...All of a sudden more than a hundred (or thousand, whichever it may be) blogs have suddenly disappear that have been on the Internet for over a year and they are just now deciding that all are link spamming?

As they say on 20/20
"Give me a break!"

If we believe that then we believe "Pigs can fly" "Hell is frozen Over" "The sky is Falling" and "I'm an Alien from Mars"
